Asef Fekrat

Born in Herat, Prof. Fekrat earned his bachelor degree in Persian language and literature from Kabul University and his masters’ degree in journalism in India. In Afghanistan, he worked in the radio, the press and the Afghan Academy of Sciences for eighteen years. While a sophomore, he was already a famous producer of Radio Afghanistan.
Fekrat continued his career in Iran, where he worked at the Library of Astan Quds and held positions such as academic member, author, and editor of the Great Encyclopedia of Islam and researcher and author in Islamic Research Foundation.
He has authored over thirty books on bibliography, history, language, and literature. Over a hundred articles and research papers by Fekrat have been published in Afghanistan and Iran.
Asef Fekrat will be presenting one of his poems on the state of poetry and literature and popularity of Simin Behbahani, in his homeland, Afghanistan.
