Tirgan, the Largest Iranian Festival

Tirgan is around the corner.

Tirgan continues to remain the reflection of the Iranian art and culture through a four-day festival, in summer of 2011. The second round of Tirgan Festival will take place from July 21 to 24, 2011 at the Harbourfront Centre, Toronto; a city that rightfully prides itself in welcoming diversity. We are making a deliberate effort to include contributions from various ethnic groups in Iran in as many artistic and cultural disciplines as possible, showcasing internationally acclaimed as well as local artists and performers who celebrate Iranian heritage through music, dance, theatre, cinema, literature, and visual arts. Tirgan also features Iranian cuisine and special arts and crafts presentations made available by vendor kiosks.

This four-day festival is going to be an engaging, educating, and entertaining experience for a wide range of audiences.

• Tirgan 2011 is featuring Asghar Farhadi, director and writer, the winner of Golden Bear for best film at 2011 Berlin Film Festival.		• Tirgan 2011 is featuring Reza Derakhshani, artist, listed among top 500 world artists in the 2009/10 Artprice Contemporary Art Market Annual Report.

Nowruz - Iranian New Year

Nowruz is almost here; a memory of old tales and epics, a celebration of rebirth and rejuvenation of the nature, calling the beginning of the spring season, commencing on March 21, 2011. The Tirgan family wishes you, in advance, a happy and prosperous Persian New Year. May everyday of your life be as fresh and inspiring as Nowruz.

Tirgan Affiliates

• Tirgan in Scandinavia by Hooman Shirazi: Tirgan was presented to Iranian students and the media in Sweden and Denmark; these communities will be assisting promotion of Tirgan festival in Scandinavia.

• The PERSIS student organization in Sweden is now affiliated with Tirgan to promote this festival across the community.
